Google Play guide
An account deletion URL for Google Play.
If your app lets people create an account, Google Play requires a web page where they can ask you to delete their account and data, without reinstalling your app. Its link goes in your app’s Data safety form.
Create your account deletion page →What Google requires
Google asks you to “provide a web link resource where users can request app account deletion.” The page must:
- Mention your app or developer name as it appears on your store listing.
- Show the steps to request deletion prominently.
- Let people request deletion without the app, for example by email or a form.
- Say which data you delete, which data you keep, and how long you keep it.
Deactivating or freezing an account doesn’t count as deleting it.
Apple has a deletion rule too
Under Guideline 5.1.1(v), apps that support account creation must let people start deleting their account inside the app. Apple allows that option to link to a web page where people finish the process. The same page also works as the optional User Privacy Choices URL in App Store Connect.
How to set it up with AppLinks
Add your deletion steps
In the editor, open “Terms of Use & account deletion” and choose “Start from an outline” under Account deletion page. Fill in the bracketed parts: where to delete in your app, what you delete, what you keep, and how long it takes.
Publish the page
Your page goes live at
https://your-app.applinks.online/delete-account. It includes a “Request account deletion” button that emails you, and it shows the page in your chosen language.Add the link to both stores
In Google Play Console, go to App content, then Data safety, and enter it as your delete account URL. In App Store Connect, you can add it as your User Privacy Choices URL under App Privacy.

Google Play also requires a privacy policy URL for every app. Your policy should explain deletion as well; see what Apple requires under Guideline 5.1.1.
