App Review fix
Fix Guideline 3.1.2: the missing Terms of Use link.
Apps with auto-renewable subscriptions need working links to a Terms of Use (EULA) and a privacy policy, both inside the app and in your App Store metadata. Missing either link is one of the most common subscription rejections.
Get a Terms of Use URL →What the rejection says
App Review lists the missing pieces, usually like this:
“The following information needs to be included within the app: A functional link to the Terms of Use (EULA). A functional link to the privacy policy.”
For metadata, the message often adds: “If you are using the standard Apple Terms of Use (EULA), include a link to the Terms of Use in the App Description.”
Where the links need to go
- Inside your app
- Link to your Terms of Use and privacy policy on the subscription screen, near the subscribe button.
- App Description
- Add both links at the end of your description in App Store Connect. Do it in every language you publish; a link missing from one localization can still be flagged.
- Privacy Policy URL
- Your privacy policy also goes in App Store Connect under App Privacy.
Apple’s standard EULA or your own terms
If you haven’t added a custom license agreement in App Store Connect, Apple’s standard EULA applies to your app. You can link to a Terms of Use page that points to it. If you have your own terms, publish them and add them as a custom license agreement in App Store Connect too.
How to fix it with AppLinks
Use your Terms of Use page
Every AppLinks app includes a Terms of Use page at
https://your-app.applinks.online/terms. Leave it empty to point to Apple’s standard EULA, or paste your own terms. Headings and lists are kept.Copy the description links
In the editor, open “Copy your URLs”, then “Where do these URLs go?”, and choose “Copy description links”. Paste them at the end of your App Description.
Link them in the app and resubmit
Add the same two links to your subscription screen, then submit the new build for review.
